A petition to amend the Florida Constitution to allow recall elections was approved Thursday by the Florida Division of Elections. Supporters can now start collecting signatures to place it on the 2012 ballot. The amendment, if approved by voters, would create a process for recall of the Governor, cabinet members, and state legislators. Read the full text of the petition here.
The constitutional amendment is sponsored by “Sons of Democracy,” a new PAC based in Sharpes, Florida. Now they just need to get over 600,000 signed petitions in time to get on the 2012 ballot.
This is good news. Finally something the left and the right in Florida can agree on!
